How Enzure works

Enzure automates the most time-consuming part of NIS compliance — contribution class lookups and form population. Here is a step-by-step walkthrough of the full workflow, from first sign-up to downloading your completed NI184 and NI187 forms.

Overview

Enzure is a web-based tool for employers in Trinidad & Tobago who are required to file national insurance contributions with the National Insurance Board (NIBTT). It takes your employee salary data, automatically determines the correct contribution class and rates for each person, and generates the completed NI184 and NI187 forms as downloadable PDFs. The goal is to replace what is typically 30–60 minutes of manual spreadsheet work and table-referencing with a process that takes under two minutes.

01

Create your organization

Your organization is the top-level workspace that holds your employees, settings, and form history.

When you sign up for Enzure, you are prompted to create an organization. This takes less than a minute — you provide your business name and your NIS employer registration number (issued by the National Insurance Board of Trinidad and Tobago, NIBTT). Both details appear on every generated form, so it is important to enter them accurately.

Once your organization exists, you can invite other team members by email. Each person you invite gets their own login and can generate, download, and view forms within the organization. There are no per-seat limits during the free tier. Role-based access ensures that your data is only visible to people inside your organization — nothing is shared across accounts.

If you manage NIS compliance for more than one business — for example, as an accountant or bookkeeper — you can create multiple organizations under the same login. Switch between them from the dashboard without logging out.

02

Add your employees

Employee records are the foundation of every form. Enter them once and reuse them indefinitely.

For each employee, Enzure needs three pieces of information: their full name, their NIS number, and their monthly salary. The NIS number is the unique identifier issued to every insured person by NIBTT; it appears on the NI184 and NI187 forms and must be correct.

Salary is entered as a monthly figure. Enzure converts this to a weekly equivalent internally (monthly ÷ 4.333) to determine the correct contribution class, then applies the applicable employer and employee rates from the current NIBTT contribution table. You never need to open a rate table again.

Employees can be marked as active or inactive. Inactive employees do not appear when you are selecting people for a new form generation, but their historical records remain accessible. This is useful for seasonal workers or staff who leave and return.

There is no import limit. Whether you have 2 employees or 200, the process is the same. For larger teams, data entry is straightforward — the form is minimal by design, with only the fields that actually matter for NIS compliance.

03

Generate your forms

Select employees and a pay period. Enzure handles contribution class determination, rate lookups, and form population automatically.

From the Generate page, you select which employees to include and specify the pay period — the month and year for which you are filing. You can include all employees or a subset, which is useful if some staff are paid on different schedules.

Once you confirm, Enzure calculates each employee's weekly earnings, determines the correct contribution class (Class I through Class XVI, based on NIBTT thresholds), looks up the corresponding employer and employee contribution amounts, and populates both the NI184 (Employer's Contribution Schedule) and NI187 (Employee's Record of Contributions) with the correct figures.

The calculation is instantaneous. You can review a summary on-screen before downloading — seeing each employee's class and contribution amounts — so you can catch any data entry errors before the PDF is produced.

If an employee's salary has changed since you last generated forms, you update their record in the Employees section and the next form generation will use the new figure. There is no need to re-enter data you have already provided.

04

Download and submit

Download completed PDF forms, ready to submit to NIBTT. All past forms are archived for 12 months.

After generation, you can download the NI184, the NI187, or both as PDFs. The forms are formatted to match the official NIBTT layout, populated with your organization details, employee information, NIS numbers, contribution classes, and amounts. They are ready to print and submit, or to attach to your digital records.

Every form generation is stored in your archive for 12 months. You can access past forms from the History page, filtered by date or pay period. This is useful for providing proof of compliance, answering NIBTT queries, or simply confirming what was filed in a previous month.

Enzure does not submit forms to NIBTT on your behalf — submission is still done directly through your NIBTT account or in person at a NIBTT office. What Enzure eliminates is the manual calculation and form-filling work that precedes submission.

Once your organization and employees are set up, generating and downloading forms for a new pay period typically takes under two minutes.

Important to know

Enzure does not submit forms to NIBTT. Submission is done directly through your NIBTT online account or in person. Enzure handles the calculation and generation; you handle the filing.

Rates are based on current NIBTT contribution tables. When NIBTT updates its rates or class thresholds, Enzure is updated to reflect the new figures. You always get the current rates.

Your data is private to your organization. Employee records, salary data, and generated forms are only accessible to members of your organization. No data is shared across accounts.

Forms are stored for 12 months. All generated forms are available in your archive for 12 months from the date of generation. After that, they are removed automatically.
